Applied AI Research & Commercialisation
Turning deep tech
into real world impact.
Moreton Applied partners with industry to research, develop, validate and deploy high-impact AI solutions across critical sectors of the economy.
What We Do
We conduct applied AI research and translate it into commercial-grade products and platforms. Our work spans the full pipeline – from foundational research through prototyping, validation, and deployment – across five high-impact industry verticals.
How We Work
We embed directly with industry partners, co-designing solutions grounded in domain expertise. Our model blends the rigour of academic research with the pace and pragmatism of a technology studio – bridging the gap between lab and market.
Why It Matters
Australia's industries are rich with untapped potential for AI-driven transformation. We exist to ensure that cutting-edge research doesn't stay in the lab – it reaches the farms, factories, care homes, and communities that need it most.
Origins
Moreton Applied exists because good applied research keeps stalling for the same reason: it loses contact with the people it was meant to serve. We operate as a private research lab embedded in industry, aligning government, academia, and small and medium operators around problems that are concrete, local, and globally relevant. The work is anchored in the Moreton Bay region, and built for the economy beyond it.

Where we focus
AI & Deep Tech
The cross-cutting foundations our applied work depends on – edge inference, transfer learning, explainable models, retrieval-augmented generation, and the privacy-preserving architectures behind every other vertical.
Aged & Disability Care
Privacy-preserving fall detection on edge hardware, multi-condition risk prediction validated on Australian aged-care cohorts, and adaptive rehabilitation with real-time feedback.
Food & Agriculture
Transfer-learning models for crop disease detection across regions, deep-learning spectroscopy for inline food-processing QC, and IoT-fused contamination tracing along supply chains.
Manufacturing
Explainable on-device visual inspection, cross-asset predictive maintenance with LSTM fault prediction, and physics-informed digital twins for interpretable real-time process control.
Tourism, Events & Sport
Retrieval-augmented assistants tied to real-time inventory, demand forecasting for mid-market operators, and crowd-flow analytics that double as safety and compliance dashboards.
